Blizzard also gave some insight into how StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm's single-player campaign will progress, and specifically how Zerg units will evolve. According to PC Gamer, the BlizzCon panel gave an example of a lowly Zergling, and its two separate split options at a particular point in the campaign. One evolutionary option allowed the Zergling to grow tiny wings, while the other divided the Zergling into three smaller creatures, called Swarmlings.
On the subject of the upcoming Heart of the Swarm beta, lead producer Chris Sigaty promised that "we're coming up to it pretty quickly. I don't have a specific date, but certainly months – not years or anything like that." Another crystal-clear release date. Cheers, Blizzard.
